1972 - 2000: Humble Beginnings & Community Roots

Moyne Rangers FC was established in 1972 with a clear mission: to bring the joy of football to the heart of Enniscorthy. The club started its journey on the old Dublin Road, where the early years were marked by humble facilities and passionate volunteers. At this time, the club had just one men’s team and one U14 youth team, but the vision was always about fostering a love for the sport and building a sense of community.

Founding Members:
The founding members of the club, were instrumental in bringing the dream to life. Their dedication to creating a space for local talent set the foundation for what would become a beloved community institution.

Early Challenges:
With limited resources, the club faced many challenges, from small pitches to volunteer-based management. Yet, the passion for the game was clear, and the club quickly became a fixture in the local football scene.

As Moyne Rangers FC grew, so did its ambitions. During this period, the club began to make its mark on the Wexford Football League, gradually increasing its presence and expanding to field more teams across both men’s and youth divisions.

2005 - 2009:
The men’s teams started to show real promise, with improved performances in local competitions. The club began attracting more local talent, and its reputation as a competitive force started to solidify.

2000 - 2010:
A landmark year for Moyne Rangers, as the club won 9 trophies across its youth and senior teams. This success provided a huge boost to the club’s morale and growth, paving the way for even greater achievements.

2011 - 2019: Achieving Glory

The years between 2011 and 2019 marked some of the most significant moments in Moyne Rangers FC's history, with the club reaching new heights both on the pitch and off it.

2011 - 2012:
The Men's Senior Team secured the Wexford Football League Division 1 title, proving that the club was on the rise and capable of competing at the highest levels in Wexford.

2019:
Men's Premier Division Champions
After years of hard work, the Men's Senior Team achieved the ultimate glory by winning the Wexford Football League Premier Division title. This victory was a proud moment for the club and a testament to the dedication of players, coaches, and supporters alike.

We get to the present!

2020 - 2025: Continued Growth and Expansion

In the next phase of Moyne Rangers FC's evolution, the club expanded its reach and resources, with a focus on inclusivity, youth development, and modernizing its facilities. This era brought continued success on the pitch and the growth of Moyne Rangers as a cornerstone of local football.

2020 - 2023:
Women’s First Division Champions
The Moyne Rangers Women’s Team made history by winning the Wexford Women’s First Division title. This achievement marked the first major league victory for the women’s side, placing them among the region’s elite and inspiring many young girls in the community to pursue the game.

2023 - 2024:
The youth teams continued their strong performances, with the U12 Division 2A, U14 Division 1, and U14 Division 3 titles further strengthening the club’s reputation as a powerhouse of local football.

2024 - 2025:
Plans for a new AstroTurf pitch were set into motion with a €182,963 Sports Capital Grant, ensuring that the club would have state-of-the-art facilities to serve its growing community of players, supporters, and volunteers. (Currently still in development)

1. Enhanced Facilities & Infrastructure
We’re dedicated to further developing our state-of-the-art AstroTurf pitch and expanding our training grounds, including floodlit pitches to ensure year-round access for all teams. Our facilities will continue to grow, supporting the development of our players at all levels.

2. Expanding Our Community & Youth Development
Moyne Rangers will expand its outreach, creating more opportunities for local players to get involved, including expanding our youth academy and ensuring Football for All programs provide football for everyone, regardless of ability or background. We’ll continue fostering the next generation of football talent while raising the profile of women’s football within the club.

3. Competitive Success & Growth
Building on past successes, our goal is to achieve even more on the pitch. The Men’s Senior Team will continue to compete for the Premier Division title, while the Women’s Team aims to push for even greater success after winning the First Division. We’re committed to ensuring both men’s and women’s football thrive within the club.

4. Digital Expansion: Website & App
The future of Moyne Rangers AFC will be more connected than ever before. With the upcoming launch of a new website and mobile app, fans and players will have access to real-time updates, live scores, and interactive content, making it easier than ever to stay engaged with the club. Expect live-streamed matches, online merchandise, and more ways to connect with the club.

5. Expanding the Club’s Reach & Legacy
The club plans to expand by introducing more teams at various age groups, offering footballing opportunities to an even broader community. We also aim to create international links with other clubs for exchanges, tournaments, and player development. Ultimately, our vision is to leave a lasting legacy of community spirit, excellence, and sportsmanship for future generations.
